John Grose Charity Quiz Night a Great Success!
Which sign of the zodiac features scales? How many legs does a lobster have? Questions asked at the second annual charity quiz night at John Grose Kia earlier in the month in Lowestoft.
11 teams took part in 9 rounds covering a range of subjects with something for everyone. The quiz was won for the second year running by local team Ipso Facto who got only a few questions wrong during the whole evening!
The event was held to raise funds for local charities Suffolk Family Carers and Help an East Coast Child. Sales Manager Karl Rogers said: “We are very aware of the invaluable support these charities give to people in our area, so we were only too pleased to host the quiz night to help raise funds and awareness for them both.”
The Kia showroom at John Grose offered the perfect venue for the evening. “It was great to welcome people into our dealership who had never visited us before, as well as to see some friendly, familiar faces.” Karl added. “We have a great team here and I hope all that attended will feel comfortable to visit us again – for next year’s quiz if not before!”
Leading the quiz was PGA Professional and Director of Golf at Seckford Golf Club, Simon Jay who did a brilliant job of running the show and getting a few jokes in along the way. Support was also given by Hotel Victoria in Lowestoft and The Beach’s very own Mikey Faulkner led the music round.
The evening raised £746 which has been split equally between Help an East Coast Child & Suffolk Family Carers. Help An East Coast Child charity’s Chair, Dave Busby, said “The John Grose Lowestoft quiz night is exactly what Help An East Coast Child is all about – local people helping local children. This donation will have a direct impact on a disadvantaged child giving them something they need which will help them in their daily life. The Grant Board extends its thanks to all those involved.”
Hayley Hancock, Head of Adult Services (Health and Social Care) for Suffolk Family Carers said “Thank you so much for the money raised from the John Grose Charity Quiz Night in Lowestoft. This money will go directly to support family carers who are going through a difficult time with their caring role.”
This quiz was the first which was apart of three charity quiz nights held over November at different John Grose dealerships. A week later Our John Grose Peugeot Dealership raised a fantastic £1,022.51 for BBC Children in Need and St Elizabeth Hospice. Then followed on 24th November by Our flagship FordStore showroom on Ransomes Europark bringing the grand total raised for charity to £4,037.64.
