John Grose Raises the Bar for Suffolk Young People

John Grose Raises the Bar for Suffolk Young People

John Grose Chairman, Ian Twinley, proudly received the Business Partner of the Year Award on behalf of the John Grose Group, at the recent Raising the Bar Awards 2015.

The Raising the Bar project celebrates the success of and shares best practice with publicly funded educational establishments in Suffolk, as well as their partners in business.

Ian was nominated on behalf of John Grose for his work in instigating and supporting the Suffolk Skills Show Experience, which brings together employers, schools, colleges and training providers to offer young people a fantastic insight into the career opportunities available to them.

The first Suffolk Skills Show took place last year and was a great success with over 3500 young people attending; this year’s event, taking place on 21st October at Trinity Park in Ipswich, promises to be even more engaging with further content to help young people in their career planning.

Of the award, the judges said of Ian: “Through his interest in working with young people to raise aspirations, improve skills and employability, Ian had the ambition to find a way for local businesses to engage with young people in a new and innovative way.  The judges were impressed with the commitment from Ian as an individual, and from John Grose as an organisation.”

John Grose are thrilled to once again be involved with the Suffolk Skills Show this year, and will be offering a number of interactive stands to showcase the range of opportunities available at John Grose, not only in the vehicle sales and servicing arena, but also in graphic design, IT and many more fields.

Speaking after receiving Business Partner of the Year, Ian said “I am tremendously proud to have received this award for John Grose. As an Investors in People organisation we understand how important our employees are to us and are committed to their development, as well as encouraging and nurturing employees of the future.”
