New 1.0 EcoBoost Engines Now Available in the New Focus

The 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine is one of the most advanced petrol engines Ford has ever produced.  It delivers performance better than a traditional 1.6-litre petrol engine, with significantly improved fuel efficiency and lower CO₂ emissions.

With three cylinders and advanced turbo charging technology, the new EcoBoost cylinder block can fit onto a sheet of A4 paper yet it delivers up to 125PS and 200Nm peak torque (with transient overboost).

The new engine is available in two power levels:

- 100PS with 5-speed manual transmission and only 109g/km CO₂ emissions

- 125PS with transient overboost, 6-speed manual transmission and only 114g/km CO₂ emissions

Both engines feature class-leading CO₂ emissions, some 10-15% better than any other manufacturers petrol engines with similar power outputs which means low annual Vehicle Excise Duty costs. The 100PS qualifies for Nil payment in the first year and then only £20 per year thereafter, and the 125PS qualifies for only £30 annual payment.

The 1.0 EcoBoost engines provide excellent drivability with maximum engine torque from 1500rpm and outstanding fuel economy (up to 58.9mpg Combined) with petrol up to 10p per litre cheaper than diesel.
