Kia has officially entered the record books with its all-new PV5 Cargo, setting a Guinness World Record for the greatest distance travelled by a light-duty battery-powered electric van with maximum payload on a single charge.
The PV5 Cargo, part of Kia’s innovative Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) line-up, achieved an impressive 693.38 kilometres (430.84 miles) on a single charge, establishing a new global benchmark for electric range in its class. This milestone highlights Kia’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable mobility and delivering practical, high-performance solutions for commercial transport.
Engineered for real everyday challenges
The 22-hour and 30-minute journey took place under real-world conditions on public roads, carefully designed to replicate the daily realities of delivery and logistics operations.
A fully-loaded Kia PV5 tackled a 58-kilometre loop twelve times, facing traffic lights, roundabouts, and even a 370-metre elevation gain on each round.

The drive was continuously recorded using GPS tracking and in-cabin cameras. Before departure, the Kia PV5 Cargo’s battery was charged to 100% and both the charging port and cargo compartment were sealed until the end of this extraordinary journey. One which went further than anyone thought possible.
