The Kia PV5 Passenger has been crowned ‘MPV of the Year’ at the 2026 What Car? Car of the Year Awards, marking another major achievement for Kia’s expanding electric PBV line-up.
This recognition arrives just weeks after the first UK customer deliveries began, underscoring the strong early reception for Kia’s first purpose-built electric people carrier.
Built on Kia’s dedicated Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service (E‑GMP.S), the PV5 Passenger has been designed with a clear focus on space, versatility and everyday practicality.
Buyers can choose between standard- and long-range battery variants, enabling them to select the model that best matches their lifestyle and driving patterns.
The What Car? panel praised the PV5 Passenger for its exceptional cabin space, intuitive layout and overall comfort.
They commented:
“If an MPV does nothing else, it must provide huge space for passengers, and the PV5 ticks this box and then some. It is clever too, with plenty of storage, a user-friendly infotainment system and useful features such as vehicle-to-load charging.”

The PV5 Passenger offers flexible seating configurations and smart interior packaging to maximise comfort and make the best use of available space.
A seven-seat version will join the line-up in 2026, adding to the existing five-seat model and broadening its appeal for larger families, private hire operators and business users alike.
This latest award follows an impressive run of early success for the PV5, which has already earned the title of ‘2026 International Van of the Year’.
The PV5 Passenger plays a key role in Kia’s strategy to expand further into the electric MPV and light commercial vehicle market.
