The Kia PV5 Wins International Van of the Year
Kia has made history once again, setting a new global benchmark. The Kia PV5 has been awarded the prestigious International Van of the Year 2026, recognising its innovation, performance, and outstanding contribution to the electric van segment. This marks the first time a Korean manufacturer—and Asia’s first electric van—has received this globally recognised honour.
The PV5 was unanimously selected by a jury of 26 leading commercial vehicle journalists from around the world, beating six other contenders. The award recognises excellence in technological innovation, operational efficiency, safety, and environmental performance, setting a new benchmark for the light commercial vehicle segment.
Built on Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service (E-GMP.S), the PV5 offers up to 258 miles of range, rapid DC charging from 10–80% in under 30 minutes, and a payload capacity of up to 790 kg. It also recently set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric van with maximum payload on a single charge—693.38 km (430.85 miles).
The PV5 is the first model in Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup, designed to meet diverse business needs with multiple body configurations, including cargo, passenger, and chassis cab variants. Kia plans to expand the range with larger PV7 and PV9 models in the coming years.
