John Grose Group is looking for an organised, proactive Transport Coordinator (CPC/O-Licence) to play a central role in managing vehicle movements and transport operations across our business.
This is a varied, hands-on position combining transport planning, fleet administration, compliance, and driver coordination. You'll be responsible for helping keep vehicles moving efficiently between our sites and customers while supporting the day-to-day management of our own trucks and trailers.
Working closely with drivers, operational teams, and external suppliers, you'll ensure vehicle movements are planned effectively, transport resources are utilised efficiently, and all compliance requirements are maintained to the highest standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transport, logistics, fleet, or operational planning experience who enjoys balancing practical coordination with compliance and administration responsibilities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Vehicle Movements & Logistics
- Coordinate vehicle
movements between John Grose sites in Ipswich, Woodbridge, and Lowestoft.
- Schedule and organise
driven vehicle deliveries to customers nationwide.
- Coordinate the
utilisation of company trucks, trailers, and driver resources to meet
operational requirements.
- Monitor fleet
availability and plan vehicle movements efficiently across multiple sites.
- Work closely with site
teams to ensure transport activity runs smoothly day to day.
- Liaise directly with
customers to arrange their delivery and meet their expectations.
Driver Resourcing & Planning
- Manage "as and
when" driver resources to meet business needs.
- Build and maintain
driver diaries, confirming availability with casual and ad-hoc drivers.
- Allocate drivers
efficiently, balancing operational priorities and delivery schedules.
- Support the effective
utilisation of employed and casual driver resources.
Transport Compliance & Fleet Administration
- Ensure compliance with Operator Licence (O-Licence) requirements and company transport policies.
- Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records for company trucks and trailers.
- Manage and monitor tachograph records and associated transport documentation.
- Assist with Driver CPC monitoring and record keeping.
- Liaise with maintenance providers to arrange servicing, inspections, MOTs, repairs, and defect rectification.
- Help ensure all fleet vehicles remain roadworthy, compliant, and available for operational use.
- Maintain transport documentation and records to support audits and regulatory requirements.
Vehicle Preparation & Contractor Coordination
- Work with the Preparation Administrator to arrange external preparation work when required
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure vehicles are prepared on time
Communication & Stakeholder Support
- Act as a central point of contact between drivers, transport, preparation, sales, service, and contractors
- Communicate clearly and professionally to resolve issues quickly and effectively

Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Experience within transport, logistics, fleet management, or operational planning.
- Knowledge of Operator Licence (O-Licence) requirements.
- Experience maintaining tachograph and transport compliance records.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance planning and vehicle compliance requirements.
- Experience coordinating drivers and vehicle schedules.
- A valid Transport Manager CPC qualification.
- Experience supporting O-Licence compliance, audits, or transport administration.
Previous transport experience is desirable, but we also welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills gained in operations, scheduling, fleet administration, logistics, customer service, or coordination roles.
Working Hours
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Working hours between 7:30am and 4:30pm, including a 1‑hour lunch break
- Some flexibility may be required to meet business and operational needs
