Kia wins 4 What Car? Awards, including Car of the Year 2019

What Car? has named the Kia e-Niro electric vehicle as its 2019 Car of the Year during its 42nd annual awards ceremony, held in association with Warranty Direct and BNP Paribas Cardif.

The Kia e-Niro beat 23 other category winners to take the overall title, becoming the first electric car to win the prestigious What Car? Car of the Year Award.

Victory for the e-Niro, which has a Real Range of 282 miles, also represents the first time Kia has taken the top prize at the ceremony.

The all-new zero emissions Kia e-Niro has become the first ever Korean car to win the prestigious What Car? Car of the Year award. This historic win also marks the first time an all-electric car has picked up the top prize of the night. The e-Niro with class leading 282-mile range also picked up ‘Electric Car of the Year’ at the awards.

The Kia e-Niro has been designed to merge crossover-inspired design with long range, zero-emissions driving and enjoyable performance. It achieves this with a next-generation electric powertrain, using new production technologies developed specifically for Kia electric vehicles.
