Tiny Ford Ecoboost motor wins 11th ‘engine of the year’ gong
The 1.0-litre Ford Ecoboost engine currently powers 1 in 4 new models sold in Europe… and, seven years after its launch, it has just claimed ANOTHER prized ‘engine of the year’ award.
This means Ford’s tiny 1.0-litre engine has scooped an ‘International Engine and Powertrain of the Year’ gong 11 TIMES – a remarkable run of success for the popular powerplant.
Famously introduced by then-boss Alan Mulally in 2012 – he kissed the engine on stage – the downsized Ecoboost has gone on to be the mainstay of the Ford Fiesta range, Britain’s best-selling car.
