Ranger PHEV Has Picked Up a Major Award
The Ford Ranger PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) has just been named the International Pick-up Award (IPUA) winner for 2026/27.
This isn't just any win; it's the fourth time in 15 years that Ranger has taken this top honour and it’s the first time a hybrid vehicle has clinched the title, marking the beginning of a new era for tough, capable trucks.
“We are incredibly proud and honoured that the new Ford Ranger PHEV has been named the International Pick-up Award winner for 2026/27,” said Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro Europe. “Having won with the all-new Ford Ranger in 2024, we deeply value the recognition the jury has now given to the electrified plug-in hybrid model, demonstrating the consistent excellence and innovative spirit that defines the Ranger lineage.”
Why the Ranger PHEV Stood Out
Ranger PHEV earned its win after rigorous on-road and off-road testing in Bulgaria by a 23-strong jury of experienced automotive journalists. Judges said they were particularly impressed that it delivers hybrid efficiency and zero-emission driving capability without compromising its power, towing or off-roading capability.
Jarlath Sweeney, Chairman of the IVOTY and IPUA jury, praised the Ranger PHEV for delivering "outstanding, class-leading performance with even greater efficiency and lower fuel costs for everyday journeys."
